PCANZ Upcoming Exhibitions & Events:

Members Exhibiton

Kia ora printmakers, we are excited to announce that the next PCANZ members exhibition will be held at Creative Arts Napier (Main Gallery), 6th November 2026

 PCANZ members are invited to enter an artwork using printmaking  techniques, limited to two unspecified colours to express their ideas.

Tonal and transparent variations of the two colours are also acceptable. The subject matter and the printmaking techniques used are up to you. This will be a great opportunity to explore what can be achieved with a limited palette. Both 2D and 3D works will be accepted but the size of the artwork must below A3.

Small Print 2026

The PCANZ Small Print 2026 got off to a cracking start in Wellington at Thistle Hall, with the opening function on Tuesday 19 May. There was an impressive display of works both on the walls and in the folders, which were much admired by visitors. Over the week we had a massive 427 visitors who bought an equally pleasing 58 prints.

We are thrilled with the response to the Small Print travelling exhibition so far, but we still have a few remaining slots available for galleries looking to host this incredible exhibition. If you know of a gallery—or are involved with one—that would love to bring this awesome exhibition to their community, we would love to hear from you.

Show me your work Challenge

At the last rep meeting I suggested we try and get more engagement on the PCANZ Facebook private page by members posting to the group a little about their work, a few images that best represent your practice and then the most important part, tag another member to do the same, using the @…. (Their name or studio name, they must be in the PCANZ group to share)

 The challenge is about connecting members, giving members from outside your region an opportunity to see your work and share process or info. You could include a photo of yourself but it’s not mandatory.

 If you are tagged and challenged, then simply post some images and tag one or two other members you may know, hopefully it will grow organically to the benefit of all members and get to see what everyone is working on around the country.

Kathy Reilly - Visit to Dublin and Edinburgh

Kathy has made a couple of visits to printmaking studios over here and received a warm welcome, despite neither being open on the day. Both managers were keen to hear about printmaking in New Zealand, and welcome enquires from our printmakers on visiting and residencies.

The Black Church Print Studio International Residency is now open for application.
