Congratulations to the many members who are Finalists in the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards 2026. PCANZ is a one of the sponsors for the $12,000 main print prize; there's also the $2000 Ruth Davey printmaking merit prize.

The prizes were awarded on Saturday, 28 February, at 5pm at Artspost in Kirikiriroa Hamilton, 120 Victoria Street. The judges -- Gabrielle Belz for print and James Ormsby for paint -- they both gave floor talks on Sunday at 10.30.

Congratulations also to the NZPPA 2026 prize winners in Printmaking. Graham Hall took out the main prize for his amazing woodcut 'The 14th Station of the Cross: The Ascension'. Ben Reid received the Ruth Davey Merit in Printmaking prize for his engaging woodcut 'Absolute Lunacy'. Neither artist was able to attend, so the pictures feature the print judge, Gabrielle Belz, and Marion Bright, who was there to represent PCANZ, one of the major sponsors of the Printmaking Prize.
