Auckland Report June-August 2026

Bridget Burnett

Ina Arraoui and Toni Mosley have been offering printmaking workshops at Toi Tu, Sudio One and at Nathan Homestead and the Botanic Gardens, South Auckland. Auckland Printmakers have also been part of numerous exhibitions recently, running alongside Printopia and the Print Fair, such as ‘Print Matters’ a print collective at the BSA gallery, ‘He Kapu Ti Mau?’ Toi Whakaata at Eyes of Fire Gallery, and ‘Stop, Breathe, Observe’ at the Botanic Gardens.

Printopia was supported and enjoyed by many of our Auckland members and also many printmakers from around the motu.  Thank you Ina and her team for all the hard mahi and a most enjoyable experience.

The Artists’ talks, workshops, demonstrations, performances and gallery visits were very popular indeed and the new venues in the CBD attracted large numbers of people. The weather was kind as well.

The shorter hours of the print fair seemed to work well with a large numbers of people visiting. Thank you to the volunteers who helped with the PCANZ table. There was a lot of interest shown and some great conversations were had. Sales were down a little this year on the PCANZ table, perhaps a reflection of the current climate.

Workshops are in the pipeline for Auckland PCANZ members (other regional members always welcome) for July/August and later in the year. Watch this space!!!
