Kapiti Coast Report JUne-August 2026

Hamish Macauley

Pretty quiet for most of the printmakers on the Kāpiti Coast this last quarter. Some of us enjoyed the Small Prints Exhibition at Thistle Hall Gallery in Wellington in May. It was great to see the array of work on offer, and to meet a number of participating artists at the opening event as well.

A number of Kāpiti Coast Printmakers continue to have fun every third Sunday of the month, meeting up with fellow printmakers at @thelearningconnexion - creating, experimenting, exchanging ideas and techniques. These monthly Sunday sessions run by the fabulous @marcimuu and @printcouncilnz are always such fun, especially for those of us that have a solitary printmaking practice.

Hamish was one of the printmakers featured as part of the exhibition from Eames Fine Art at London Original Print Fair in mid-May. The event is held annually at Sommerset House, and is London's longest-running art fair. Hamish has a solo show with the gallery in August this year.
