Taupo Report march-May 2026
Sally-Ann Davies
The Taupō Printmakers are off to a good start this year, with members making waves both locally and abroad. Sally is delighted to be a finalist in the NZPPA awards and is busy preparing for upcoming Art Shows—a fantastic platform for promoting printmaking and selling her work across New Zealand. Meanwhile, Marion is thrilled to have been invited to submit work for the Pressing Matters exhibition at Estuary Arts, Orewa, this March.
Both Sally and Marion recently enjoyed attending Summer School, which included an inspiring visit to the Ashburton Gallery to view PCANZ Contemporary Printmaking Exhibition and Kathy Reilly’s Antarctica Exhibition. We can’t forget that Marion received a life Membership for her hardwork and leadership on the Print Council Executiove Committee, congratulations.
On the international stage, Maggie facilitated a successful online linocut print programme with artists in the UK and Canada. Meeting via Zoom twice a week, the group shared ideas and bathed in the creative synergy of collective support. Inspired by this success, Maggie is now interested in organising a New Zealand-based online print workshop.
