Wellington Report June-August 2026

Margaret-Ann Barnett

Takapu Road Project

We're excited to announce the launch of a project designed to move us beyond the technical skills of printmaking to exploring the ways artists interpret place through printmaking.

The collaborative Takapu Road Project has two aims: to encourage members to reflect more deeply on the meaning and intention behind their work, and to contribute to a group exhibition of up to 50 works at Pātaka Art + Museum in November 2027.

Rather than focusing purely on technical printmaking, participants will gather to discuss their creative responses to a large nature restoration project, situated at the top of Takapu Road between Tawa and Porirua.

While this is a Wellington PCANZ initiative, we would welcome participation from interested printmakers outside the region.
