Greetings print community! As a long-time background lurker, I have stepped into the role of Lower South Island PCANZ rep as we say a huge thanks to Lynn Taylor for all that she has done in this role. Lynn is still here with us in Ōtepoti, Dunedin, and this September, those who can will be gathering at the creative space Among the Sparrows for an informal afternoon of sharing latest projects and getting to know each other. This will take place from 2–3.30pm on Saturday 19th September. Speaking of Among the Sparrows, this venue run by Kate Watts (coincidentally, a screen printer) has been running a regular programme of creative workshops for the past few years, including sessions on bookbinding and printmaking. PCANZ member Marion Mertens is offering another wonderful bookbinding workshop on 27 September and I’ll be teaching some printmaking classes - mostly tailored for the beginner October. There is another Business of Being Creative session planned for 4 November, for anyone wanting to learn practical tips on all of those background things that support your art-making – generously funded by the Dunedin City
