Kapiti Coast Report march - may 2026

Hamish Macauley

It seems that the Kāpiti Region Printmakers have been relatively quiet over the last few months, although a few of our members attended and enjoyed Summer School.

Hamish has just completed a very successful solo exhibition at Pātaka Art+Museum in Porirua. His exhibition ‘Rekindled Memories’ featured 40 unique gel plate monotype prints, a medium that has become central to his printmaking practice. The show explored imagined environments inspired by everyday lived experiences and memories of the Aotearoa landscape. He also held 5 free Gel Plate Printmaking workshops for residents of the Porirua community.

Hamish has also been selected as the Feilding Art Society's guest artist for this year's Manawatū Art Expo. The event is the region’s number one art showcase, and this year boasts Salvador Dali as their featured artist. The Expo runs from 17-19 July at the Palmerston North Conference and Function Centre.
