Taupo Report December-february 2026
Sally-Ann Davies and Marion Bright
Taupo continue to be active with their printmaking pursuits. Sally-Ann’s recent three-day printmaking retreat was a resounding success. These retreats are becoming incredibly popular, with attendees loving the all-inclusive package: comfortable accommodation, delicious home-cooked meals, and the invaluable opportunity to connect with fellow printmaking enthusiasts.
If you are thinking about starting similar retreats in your own region, Sally-Ann is happy to share her successful plans and insights with you.
In other news, Marion Bright recently enjoyed a very stimulating - and physical - week honing her skills attending a large scale printmaking masterclass at Jenny Robinson Print Studio in Sydney. A truly amazing experience; Jenny is a wonderful facilitator and her studio houses the largest Big Press in the southern hemisphere. She would love to welcome other NZ printmakers to join her studio for residencies or workshops. Check out https://www.jennyrobinsonprint.studio/ or email marionbrightartist@gmail.com if you’d like to know more from her experience.
Closer to home, you can see the latest prints by Marion, Maggie and Sally-Ann in the 'Artful Minds Exhibition' running over the summer months. If you are visiting Taupō this summer, be sure to stop by the beautiful Lava Glass Gallery.
