Whanganui/Palmerston North Report Sept. - Nov. 2026
Julia Ellery and Rachel Stockley
June saw our members taking part in the Wetlands Exhibition hosted by the Hawkes Bay Inkers. We had 14 exhibitors who contributed 21 prints. Thank you for the invite and all the work that went into putting this exhibition together!
Our group is now working towards our annual exhibition ‘Homage’ at Space Studio and Gallery in Whanganui which runs 13 -31 October. If you’re in our region please call into view. If you can’t make it to the gallery in person, you can view the exhibition online after the opening, which takes place on the 14th October. This year we are paying ‘Homage’ to Hockney and Historic buildings, so should make for some interesting work. We have reduced the number of monthly challenges we have been doing so people can focus on exhibition work. So, our only challenge has been to make a print with Fairytales/Myths or Nursery Rhymes in mind.
July saw us do a group workshop on block printing, which was well received. We have also done a couple of group pushes to Space Studio and Gallery to see the travelling PCANZ Smallprint exhibition and Lisa Feyens print exhibition. Some of our group will be taking part in the Painterly Watercolour Monotype workshop that Lisa is running at the end of the August, so we are looking forward to this.
