A quiet winter quarter for the PCANZ Kāpiti Printmakers, but things will be heating up for them as spring approaches and artists in our region prepare for Kāpiti Coast Art Trail. Note for your diary: this year the dates are 24-26 Oct (Labour weekend) & 31 Oct-1 Nov.
Hamish had a busy and suc cessful weekend at the Manawatū Art Expo in July. He was the guest artist, and enjoyed greeting visitors and collectors to the regions longest-running art show. He also gave daily gel plate printmaking demonstrations, which were popular and well attended. The number of visitors that attended the expo was up on previous years, and sales were at a record high, which was great for the participating artists and the Feilding Art Society.
Fielding Art Expo
Hot on the heals of t he Expo, Hamish headed to the UK for another solo show with Eames Fine Art in London. The exhibition of well over 100 new works has been extremely well received by UK collectors, and work has even been snapped up by online buyers from as far afield as Singapore and Australia. It is wonderful that work inspired by and produced in New Zealand has resonated so strongly with collectors on the other side of the world.
