In the words of Dr Carole Shepheard, the 2023 Print Judge, “it’s an important day for printmaking” when the Waikato Society of Arts announced that from 2023, the NZ Painting and Printmaking Awards (NZPPA) major prizes for painting and printmaking would be on an equal footing awarding the same prize money.
