A Webinar for Artists

After attending Printopia and meeting with many printmakers, Mike Dickison has agreed to create a webinar for PCANZ members who are interested in understanding options for showing (and possibly selling, if desired) their work and their practice online. Mike has dabbled in drypoint himself and has a keen interest in improving the visibility of NZ artists online. Please register with the link below:

Dr Mike Dickison • Aotearoa Wikipedian at Large

Do you want to make it easy for people to find and contact you, see your art, and buy it? This workshop will run through simple ways to improve your digital presence, starting with getting free of Instagram with a domain name and portfolio website. Untangling copyright and creating a media kit with open-licensed images of yourself with your work, and a selection of freely-shareable images of your art, is next. Finally we’ll learn how to place essential biographical information about yourself in independent reliable sources to spread your online presence more widely, even including Wikipedia.

Mike Dickison has twice been Aotearoa Wikipedian at Large, and has done Wikipedia projects with the Left Bank Art Gallery, New Zealand Opera, the Christchurch Art Gallery, and Printopia. He was a curator at Whanganui Regional Museum and is based in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
