Congratulations to Toni Hartill!

Toni’s new online course “Unbound”, run by Fibre Arts Take Two will start soon. Enrolments are already closed, but we hope there will be a repeat.

Member Celia Walker reports on a recently completed residency in Australia.

Earlier this year I spent 6 weeks in Australia, with a month-long residency at BigCi Artist Residency on the fringes of the Wollemi National Park (an hour and a half from Sydney). The BigCi Residency has a purpose-built studio, an enormous light-filled space housing up to four artists at one time. Artists are given total freedom and space to immerse themselves in their work and have opportunities to explore the spectacular natural landscape of the Blue Mountains. I followed up the residency with a fabulous workshop/masterclass run by Sarah Amos at the well-equipped Baldessin Print Studio near Melbourne and so was able to turn some of my drawings and work from the residency into finished collagraph prints. I will be giving an artist talk about these experiences on Thursday 11 September at 6pm, at The Depot 3 Victoria Rd.

Towards Predator Free 2050 Exhibition is currently on at the Auckland Botanic Gardens featuring a number of PCANZ members (see details in members matters of interest section). Esther Hansen is exhibiting in a show in Miranda, Auckland. Anita Mudaliar and Lorraine Vickery are showing their work in a group show at the BSA Gallery, Auckland.
