Small Print Exhibition 2024

An unselected, travelling exhibition of A4 prints. Members’ prints are exhibited widely around Aotearoa, while raising awareness of printmaking and PCANZ.

Small Print is an introductory exhibition series and is a great way of introducing members’ work to galleries. There are at least 10 months of exhibitions, renewing each year, that travel to different galleries around the motu. The aim is to promote printmaking and to increase the number of entries each round to keep Small Print growing.

All members are invited to send in up 4 to 6 prints (same or different). The retail price for the Small Print prints will be $100. The price to the artist will vary depending on the commission charged by the particular gallery.

The 2024 - 2025 series starts at Art Vault in Takaka in May and will travel from there to other venues around the country. More galleries are booked with dates currently being finalised. Details are coming soon.

Since 2013, the Small Print Exhibition continues to be very well received with numerous sales and raised awareness of printmaking and PCANZ. It’s now time to get your prints ready for the new 2024/2025 round:

Calling all Print Council Members:

New series Small Print 2024 entries are now open

The Small Print is getting ready to travel again! All PCANZ members are now invited to send 4 to 6 prints in the new round.

The prints must be A4, as they have to fit the cellophane bags we use for hanging. Prints can be an edition or all different, it is up to you! In 2023 we had 61 artists and we would like to have 70 plus for this round to keep Small Print growing.

The deadline for prints to be received by the organisers is by Monday 22nd April 2024.

The retail price for the Small Print 2024 prints will be $100. The price to the artist will vary depending on the commission charged by the particular gallery.

The entry fee in 2024 is $40.00. PCANZ Bank Account: 03 0791 0387378 00 with Ref: Full Name and SP2024.

The PCANZ Small Print 2024 Colophon and all other relevant information pertaining to the exhibition can be downloaded from the buttons below. Please include a printed copy of the completed colophon with your prints.

You may re-enter your last year’s prints. Just fill in the colophon and pay the entry fee.

Small Print 2024 Brief

Requirements:

This is an unselected exhibition

Paper: 250 gsm or 300 gsm good quality printmaking paper

Paper size: A4

Image size: no size limit, edge to edge allowed

Method of printmaking: any, but NO reproductions or photocopies.

Number of entries: up to 4 to 6 prints may be entered, not necessarily an edition, a variety is permitted. If your work sells you are welcome to replace it with another work.

Works will not be framed, so clean edges only please. If there are finger prints or dirty marks the print won’t be hung.

We will be using a magnetic hanging system; it is possible to send this around to galleries with the works.
